Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information this website collects, how it may be used, and the rights you have under UK data protection law. It covers the Service Street marketing website only.

Service Street is developing a platform that helps UK local authorities sell, manage and grow traded services for schools and other organisations. This policy applies to this marketing website and to enquiries submitted through it.

Separate contractual and data-processing terms would apply to any future use of the Service Street platform itself. Those terms are agreed with a council directly and are not covered here.

We collect only two kinds of information through this website:

  • information you choose to provide through a form; and
  • limited technical information generated when a page is requested.

We do not ask for special category data, and you should not include sensitive personal information, pupil data or confidential council information in a website enquiry.

Our demo request, contact and insights sign-up forms collect the details shown on the form at the point of submission. Depending on the form this may include your name, work email address, job title, council or organisation, department, an indication of your current traded-services setup, and the message you write.

Fields are limited to what is needed to respond sensibly to a professional enquiry. You can complete a form without providing optional fields.

When a page is requested, standard technical information such as the request time, the requested page and general request metadata may be processed by our hosting infrastructure to serve the page, keep the website available and protect it from abuse. Optional analytics are only used where you have given permission, as described in section 8.

We may use information you provide to:

  • respond to your enquiry or arrange a demonstration;
  • understand the traded-services challenges councils are trying to solve;
  • send occasional insights where you have asked to receive them; and
  • keep the website secure, available and working correctly.

We do not sell information collected through this website and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests — responding to a business enquiry you have initiated and operating a secure website.
  • Consent — optional marketing communications and optional cookies.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.

We will only send marketing or insight emails where you have asked to receive them. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying to any message we send or by contacting us through the contact form. Withdrawing consent does not affect our ability to reply to an enquiry you have already made.

This website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage entries so that pages work correctly and your cookie choice is remembered. Optional analytics are not active unless you accept them, and no third-party advertising or social tracking pixels are used on this website. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

We do not share enquiry information with third parties for their own marketing. It may be handled by service providers who help us operate the website and respond to enquiries, and it may be disclosed where we are legally required to do so. The specific providers used in production are being confirmed and this section will name them before launch.

Where any provider we use processes information outside the UK, we will ensure an appropriate transfer mechanism recognised under UK data protection law is in place. Confirmed processing locations will be stated in this policy before launch rather than described speculatively here.

We keep enquiry information for no longer than is necessary for the purpose it was provided, and we review what we hold periodically. Specific retention periods will be published here once our production infrastructure and record-keeping policy are finalised; we would rather state that plainly than publish a period we do not yet apply.

We design the website and platform around least-privilege access, encrypted transport and separation between customer environments. As an early-stage organisation we are transparent about what is in place today and what is planned, and our security page separates the two rather than implying certifications we do not hold.

Subject to the conditions in law, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your information is used;
  • request access to the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to erase information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request portability of information you provided; and
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

This website may link to third-party websites, for example public-sector guidance. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites and we recommend reading their own policies.

We will update this policy as Service Street develops, particularly as our production infrastructure and providers are confirmed. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

A dedicated privacy contact address is being set up. In the meantime, please use the contact form and select the privacy or security topic, and your message will reach the right person.

Transparency note. Service Street is an early-stage company. This policy describes our intended approach and is written to be honest about what is not yet finalised. It has not been presented as legally reviewed, and company registration details, a named privacy contact and confirmed retention periods will be added before the website is used commercially.
